Observations: Comparison of Watec and Sony7s

We observed 2 nights and Jürgen Michelberger counts visual more the 500 Meteors in both nights.
It was very dark. I´ve seen the ´Gegenschine´:

The best reason is the good weather. Even in the moutains higher than 1000m the temperatures are positive:

The good weather was used to compare the Watec and the Sony7s at the Sky.

The Watec was very popular vor meteor-obserations for many years, but it´s no-more available and the Sony7s becomes cheaper.
It´s now near 400 Euro:

In the first night the Watec counts 70 meteors in 3,5h. So it´s 20 Meteors per hour.
The Sony reaches 3 times more Meteors and counts 65 Meteors per hour.

Here are all Sony-Meteors in 3 hours:

But we have to say, that the field of view at the Sony7s was twice as big as the field of view of the watec. So the sensitivity of the sony-chip is not much higher. The advantage is the bigger chip!

In the second night the Sony7s reaches only 24 meteors per hour. At the day before it was 65/h!
The Watec counts 11,5 Meteore per hour. At the day before it was 20/h.

The relation Sony:Watec decreases from 1:3,5 to 1:2.
So the Sony was still twice as good as the Watec.
The relation maybe changed, because after the maximum there are more
bright meteors which are better reachable for the less sensitive Watec.

In both nights we had no big fire-balls, but nevertheless we have seen several Persistent Trains.
